SKULPT™ is the fabric Balion is built on. It is not a collection and not a single style — it is the material that makes our garments fit the way they do, whether you are putting on a pair of tights, a sports bra or a sweatshirt.

What SKULPT™ does

SKULPT™ is our own premium fabric, developed for Balion. It has strong compression that shapes and holds everything in place throughout your entire workout.

All fabric is quality checked, including by holding it up against strong light. The dark colours are not see-through — for the very lightest colours we cannot give any guarantee.

Design and fabric belong together

The seams are flatlock with six-thread stitching. That gives a seam that lies flat against the skin without chafing, and that lasts workout after workout and wash after wash — it is often the seam, not the fabric, that goes first on a piece of training wear.

The fabric alone does not give the fit we are after. The compression has to be built into the cut: a high waist that does not roll down, and seams placed strategically for the best possible fit — they should enhance the female figure, not squeeze in the wrong places. It is the combination of fabric and design that makes the garment shape, sculpt and create a feminine silhouette.

Made from recycled polyester

The polyester in SKULPT™ is recycled, and makes up most of the fabric. The rest is spandex, which provides the stretch and the shaping effect. For us that is not a selling point in itself — it is a requirement we place on our fabric, on a par with our strict quality requirements for fit and durability.

Why it feels tight the first time

SKULPT™ garments often feel small when you unpack them, and it is completely normal that they need to be “worked into” a little the first time. That is exactly what the compression does — and it is the same compression that gives the shaping effect. If you would like a looser fit, we recommend going one size up.

How to care for SKULPT™

Follow the care instructions in the garment. In short:

Wash at 30 degrees — preferably with a sports detergent
Do not use fabric softener
Do not tumble dry
Hang to dry — the fabric dries quickly

Fabric softener settles into the fibres and reduces both the compression and the breathability. If you follow this, the garment keeps both its elasticity and its colour — and lasts a long time.
